SPARTANS 11 WARLORDS 11, OT


The St. Catharines Spartans jumped out to a 7-3 lead in the second period but had to settle for an 11-11 overtime tie versus the Welland Warlords in OLA junior B action Sunday night at the Welland Arena.

Trevor Hines paced St. Catharines with three goals while Danny Blocho and Ty Cavalho added two each. Brady Lawrence, Jeff Wittig, Kyle Potter and Michael Bosse added singles.

Bryce Brochua had three for Welland while Brandon Porga and Matt Coloumbe added two each. Singles came off the sticks of Jack Fitzgerald, Cam Phillips, Josh Harris and Ryan Doan.

Welland outshot St. Catharines 69-38. Craig Seneca turned back 58 shots in goal for the Spartans.

The Spartans are at Gueph Thursday and at Point Edward Saturday.
