The season is over for the St. Catharines Spartans.
The Spartans dropped a 9-8 decision at Orangeville Wednesday in the third and deciding game of their best-of-three Ontario Lacrosse Association junior B playoff series.
Orangeville took a 4-1 lead after one period before St. Catharines came back to trail 8-7 after two. Each team netted just one goal in the final 20 minutes.
Jeff Wittig, Kyle Potter and Trevor Hines each had two goals for the Spartans while Evan Scott also scored.
Craig Seneca made 48 saves in goal for the Spartans. St. Catharines managed just 34 shots on Orangeville netminder Connor Anyon.
