Spartans clipped by Clippers 9-8


By LocalSportsReport.com - Ty Carvalho scored a hat trick but his St. Catharines Spartans fell just short, losing to the Windsor Clippers 9-8 Saturday night at the Merritton Arena.

Windsor held a 5-4 lead after the first period and a 6-5 lead heading into the third period.

Shots on goal favoured Windsor 47-30.

Quintan Martin started in net for the Spartans and allowed five goals in the first period.  Craig Seneca replaced Martin and made 38 saves on 42 shots.

The Spartans are back on the floor on Sunday when they travel to Six Nations to play the undefeated Rebels.
