Spartans complete perfect weekend with home victory

ST. CATHARINES - The St. Catharines Spartans junior B team improved to 9-4 in Ontario Lacrosse Association action Sunday night with a 16-8 doubling of the visiting Point Edward Pacers.
Scoring goals or multiple points in the win were Chris Robertson (2-4-6); Zach Calder (1-4-5); Jacob Schenck (0-4-4); Danny Blocho (3-0-3); Brett Pace (2-1-3); Cree Blakely (2-0-2); Trevor Hines (2-0-2); Matt Moore (1-1-2); Taylor Dion (1-1-2); Evan Scott (1-0-1); Kyle Adams (1-0-1); Michael Bosse (0-2-2); and Darien Jimerson (0-2-2).
Earlier in the weekend, the Spartans recorded a 12-7 win over the Brampton Excelsiors with Dave Herkimer making 30 saves to pick up the win in goal.
Leading the offence for the Spartans were Hines (2-2-4); Blocho (2-1-3); Moore (2-0-2); Blakely (1-1-2); Calder (1-1-2); Scott (1-1-2); Michael Bosse (1-1-2); Robertson (1-1-2); Brady Lawrence (0-2-2); Pace (0-2-2); and Alec Tamas (1-0-1).
The Spartans are at Hamilton Friday before hosting Wallaceburg Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Merritton Arena.
